About Us

Serene Custard & Golf, a Family Owned Business for Over 60 years!

Originally built in 1959 and owned by the Gorgo family and named for the family’s matriarch Serene, the roadside custard stand has been a Vineland landmark ever since. It is one of the longest-operating businesses in the Vineland area.

Since its opening in 1959, there have only been four owners of the establishment: the Gorgos, the Littmans, and the Rones, who sold the business in early 2022 to Robert Scarpa and Katie Chillari, who immediately began to renovate the building to what it is today.

In 1996, an 18-hole miniature golf course was added. It is one of the few miniature golf courses in South Jersey that is not located on a boardwalk. It is regarded as one of the most challenging courses in the tri-state area. The course — which includes a walk-thru cave, waterfall, three ponds, and over 500 plants — underwent an upgrade in the Spring of 2022. More improvements are planned, including glow-in-the-dark golfing and a haunted themed golf experience in October.

Serene has consistently been named one of the top locations for custard in the State. In 2022, we were named the #1 custard stand in the state by NJ.com.

Tens of thousands of guests visit Serene every summer, and many share heart-warming stories of visits here over their lifetime. We have served four generations of locals since our founding in 1959
